The Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists of India (AALDI) is the professional society functioning in India which takes care of Agricultural Librarianship in the country. It is a registered professional society with membership from State / Central Agricultural Universities, ICAR Institutions and R&D Organizations having thrust on Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Dairy, Fisheries, Food Science and Technology, and allied sectors.
Established more than five decades ago, AALDI has evolved with the profession — embracing digital transformation, ICT, and AI-driven approaches while remaining grounded in its core mission of connecting knowledge to those who cultivate the nation's food security.

What we set out to do.
Improve readers' services, information literacy programmes and continued library education across NARES, NARS, and ICAR.
Promote bibliographical and user studies; arrange short-term training programmes for better library services.
Improve the status and service conditions of library professionals across SAUs, ICAR Institutes and agro-biological Centres.
Collaborate with national agro-biological associations and international bodies.
Formulate standards, norms, and guidelines for library and information systems management.
Organize annual conferences, publish IJALIS, bulletins, and conference volumes.
Undertake all actions incidental or conducive to attaining the Association's objectives.
